This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to coordinate and support the IT requirements of a research institute which is at the forefront of particle physics research both in the UK and worldwide. The post provides a unique opportunity to share responsibility for the IT needs of the institute while retaining a hands-on approach to work across the IT field. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for representing Durham externally as part of Scotgrid and GridPP to ensure integration of IPPP's HPC cluster for use by particle physics researchers working on the LHC around the globe.

Please note this post is fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance, with the possibility of a further extension depending upon the availability of funding.
