Professional Development Leader (0.6 FTE)

Salary will be in the range £30,124 - £35,940 (pro-rata) plus £2,323 London Allowance (pro-rata) per annum.

Science Learning Centre London wishes to recruit a science educator to join this highly successful provider of professional development for science teachers and technicians in London. You will need a good first degree in a science-related discipline, have some experience of training teachers, and have taught in school or gained comparable experience elsewhere.

You will deliver Science Learning Centre London courses to primary and/or secondary teachers, dependent on your qualifications and experience. A substantial part of the role involves assisting in the project management of the Triple Science Support Programme and the Stimulating Physics Network; both projects require the ability to communicate effectively with schools, head teachers and other education professionals as well as high-level administrative skills.

Science Learning Centre London is a small team of nine staff and is part of the National Network of Science Learning Centres, funded by the Department for Education.

The post is available from 1 May 2012 on a fixed term contract until 31^st July 2013, in the first instance.
