The Academic Registry and Council Secretariat has recently completed a restructure which supports the strategic priorities of Queen Mary, its professional services aims and management of risk through the provision of a dedicated, professional academic administration service. Changes include the enhancement of the service provision to students through the creation of a dedicated Student Enquiry Unit, creating an Examinations unit that provides a comprehensive service for all invigilated examinations, a clearer faculty-focus for schools and institutes in the principal areas of student record keeping and academic quality assurance, appropriate support for key compliance and reporting requirement and support for improved communications with staff and students.Â
The Academic Registry seeks to recruit a highly motivated individual to manage a new team providing specialist and technical expertise to the management of student data and the dedicated support and training for users of the student information system. The post holder will play a pivotal role in understanding and interpreting the business needs of its users, undertaking process and development review, providing effective support and training and developing mechanisms to ensure the quality and integrity of data.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in delivering business solutions, preferably using SITS in a higher education environment
- Experience of managing student records and an understanding of the complexities of record keeping
- Highly developed knowledge of Registry and Admissions processes
- Experience of organising, leading/facilitating workshops, requirement gathering groups and business process review groups.
The position is a permanent post. Starting salary will be in the range £42,179 - £47,088 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
