The Academic Registry and Council Secretariat has recently completed a restructure which supports the strategic priorities of Queen Mary, its professional services aims and management of risk through the provision of a dedicated, professional academic administration service. Changes include the enhancement of the service provision to students through the creation of a dedicated Student Enquiry Unit, creating an Examinations unit that provides a comprehensive service for all invigilated examinations, a clearer faculty-focus for schools and institutes in the principal areas of student record keeping and academic quality assurance, appropriate support for key compliance and reporting requirement and support for improved communications with staff and students.Â
The Academic Registry seeks to recruit a Student Records Officer to be responsible for the day-to-day management of student records and Registry processes within a specific faculty. The post holder will play a key role in the production of papers for the Degree board and will work with colleagues to ensure the integrity and accuracy of student data records.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of managing student records and an understanding of the complexities of record keeping
- Experience of using a computerised academic record keeping systems, preferably SITS
- Detailed knowledge of Registry processes and procedures
- Experience in interpreting academic regulations and relaying to students and colleagues
The position is a permanent post. Starting salary will be in the range £33,944 - £39,936 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
