Information Governance Coordinator

Information Governance Coordinator

£25,000 (pro rata, 10 month fixed term contract)
35 hrs per week
Central London

With a worldwide reputation for educational excellence and state-of-the art teaching facilities, The Royal College of Surgeons of England exists to promote the highest standards of surgical care. Part of our Internal Services Directorate, the Information Governance (IG) steering group provides the framework for the way in which the College handles all organisational information.

This is a new post and as IG Coordinator, you'll ensure that the governance work we do is properly developed in order to achieve the standards required by the NHS's Information Governance Statement of Compliance. As well coordinating all aspects of IG, including responsibility for the completion, maintenance and management of the IG Toolkit, you'll also lead on the further implementation of policy and guidance and promote good IG practice across the college.

Already with experience gained in an IG role where you have worked with the requirements of the IGSOC Toolkit, you have an in-depth understanding of IG within a complex regulated environment. What's more, you have the ability to react to national policy guidelines and implement policies locally. Communicating regularly across a wide stakeholder framework will be essential, so as well as having a real customer focus, you'll need the communication skills it takes to build relationships and rapport with a wide range of people. A good team player who respects and collaborates well with colleagues, you're open minded to change and always willing to try new ideas. Above all though, you're reliable, consistent and have a positive 'can-do' approach to what is an extremely vital area of the College's work.

Benefits include:

  • 25 days' holiday and up to 4 college closure days
  • Defined Benefit pension scheme
  • Flexi-time
  • Subsidised restaurant
  • In-house gym
  • Squash court
