Salary range: starting at £37,012 and rising to £44,166 per annum Â
The University is committed to significant investment to renew and refresh its major business IT systems over the next three years.
As a result of this exciting programme of work, extra resource is required in the area of business application support, development and integration. You will work as a member of the Business Applications team to maintain existing systems and work as part of a team to deliver new functionality using a mixture of proprietary software solutions and in-house development.
You will be required to design solutions to meet requirements; produce high quality technical design documentation and write code that is robust, structured and re-useable.
The successful candidate will have extensive skills in Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Forms. Experience of information systems used within higher education to maintain the student life cycle would be extremely desirable.
Other desirable skills are:-
- Skill in programming languages such as J2EE or PHP web scripting language
- Experience of creating Application Programming Interfaces using XML
- Knowledge of application architectures such as web services
- Experience of implementation and deployment of proprietary software solutions
- Experience of software integration
