Grade E82: £74,504 - £100,466 p.a.

The George Centre for Healthcare Innovation is seeking to appoint an Executive Director for the George Centre for Global Health in India. You will have an international reputation for innovative research and a commitment to the development of the field. A strong track record of academic success and proven senior-level leadership and managerial expertise is essential for this post.

This position provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to develop and grow a pre-eminent research organisation in India, focused on the conduct of cutting edge population health, clinical and health systems research that directly seeks to improve the health of individuals in India.  The George Institute, India was established in 2007 and currently has an expanding research programme, supported by a small team of academic and non-academic support staff.  The successful applicant will therefore be able to work within an existing infrastructure, while shaping the future direction and growth of the Institute in India, in collaboration with major research and academic partners, governments and other funders in India and elsewhere in the world.

The appointee will be expected to divide their time between The George Institute for Global Health, India (~70%) and the George Centre for Healthcare Innovation, based at the University of Oxford (~30%).

To be appointed on the Clinical Researcher grade, E82, the appointee must be medically qualified. We will also consider candidates who are not medically qualified, in this case appointments will be made at grade RSIV (starting salary upwards of £52,317 p.a.).

Subject to the University procedure and approval it is anticipated that the appointee will be conferred the title of Professor.

This post is full-time and fixed-term for 5 years.
