This new part-time post (50% FTE) is available immediately in the IT Governance and Compliance section to assist with managing the University's Information Security. The team is part of Exeter IT, which has overall responsibility for the University's IT and systems development and management.
The role will support enforcement, development and monitoring of Information Security. The responsibilities will include providing advice on information security and risk management to relevant stakeholders and user groups, investigating security breaches and undertaking remedial action as appropriate, and implementing and monitoring compliance with information security policies. The post holder will also be required to develop and deliver training programmes on information security awareness and business continuity planning.
The post is part of the University's increasing commitment to the security of its information resources.
The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of information security principles and practices and will be highly IT literate with a strong technical background. S/he will also have the ability to communicate complex messages effectively to non-technical audiences, and to comfortably engage with a range of stakeholders from all levels and communities within the University. The post holder will be required to use creativity and initiative, have a high level of attention to detail, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach.
