Summary: This is an entry level position into specialty property underwriting. Strong analytical skills are required for this role. The Catastrophe Modeler Associate is responsible for the technical risk analysis, the development of modeling and pricing tools and the portfolio management of the property insurance risks for natural catastrophe exposures as well as fire both on individual and portfolio level.

Essential Duties:
Build and adapt analytical analysis to each risk using Microsoft excel advanced functions and other software, tools and systems.
Model natural catastrophe exposures as well as fire, both on an individual risk basis and at the portfolio level.
Manage portfolio of risks with a goal of portfolio and returns maximization.

Job Requirements:
Strong analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel including all functions e.g. pivot tables and formulas.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the company.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the company and department.
Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory requirements.
Other: Already located in NY / NJ / CT is a plus.
