We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Controller from a retail organization with annual revenues of $50mm or more. As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Senior Controller will report to the Chairman and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The Senior Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, payroll, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships. The candidate's primary responsibility is to prepare quarterly earnings; help to prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for senior management and Investors; perform financial analysis regarding the Company. Additional responsibilities are to review and reconcile inventory related accounts including sales, gro ss margin and shrink. This position is also responsible for testing and processing monthly interface of inventory and sales data.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Manage general accounting, inventory control and sales audit functional areas.
Monthly book close including the reconciliation of sales, inventory, cost of goods sold and gross margin accounts.
Preparation of certain balance sheet accruals and account reconciliations.
Ownership of the accounting for inventory at "net realizable value" (NRV). NRV analysis also required to support the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
Assist in designing, developing and implementing process improvements.
Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports.
Prepare and review operating and budgets.
Prepare monthly operating and capital forecasts.
Research and develop analytical tools to address issues such as operating performance measurement for production and marketing activities.
Analyze monthly variances to budget/forecast/prior year. Report and review operating results and associated variances with Corporate on a monthly basis.
Devise or apply independent models and tools to analyze performance/ROIs.
Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis/product performance.
Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections and budgeting duties.
Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.

An accomplished individual will possess..
REQUIRED- BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics, CPA strongly preferred
REQUIRED- Senior Controller (present or recent past) in a RETAIL firm with annual revenues of $50mm or more
Minimum 8-10 years direct retail industry experience with an outstanding track record of accomplishments
Demonstrated leadership and financial acumen
