CallStreet Operations/Back-end Product Developer (Midtown)

FactSet's fast-growing events and transcripts business, known as CallStreet, produces transcripts and event calendar data for corporate quarterly earnings announcements, conference calls, investor conferences, and other events. The data are published on CallStreet.com and in other FactSet applications.

The CallStreet Operations Product Developer will be responsible for interpreting the needs of CallStreet's operations and production teams and converting these needs into actionable, clear, organized specifications of well-designed applications for CallStreet's software engineers. In addition, the successful product developer will monitor development progress of enhancements to ensure that issues are resolved and projects are completed on time. The product developer will need to become an expert in CallStreet's production processes and to design effective tools to make the process more productive and error-free. A successful candidate will be a fast learner who is able to understand the existing process and workflows quickly and to contribute ideas for enhancements in short order. Familiarity with all of the different inputs to CallStreet's production process will be important.

Job Description:
- Become an expert in CallStreet's production processes and products, including but not limited to Event Data Collection, Transcription, and Editing.
- Design new tools, as well as enhancements to existing tools, with the goal of making CallStreet collection systems more efficient.
- Responsibilities include: requirements gathering, application design, and writing function specifications.
- Manage project communication, tasks, and schedules.
- Manage CallStreet's software development requests, including prioritization of enhancements and new development; according to need and resource availability.
- Work with operations and engineering teams to proactively resolve issues.
- Serve as a liaison between the CallStreet operations teams (irrespective of team's location) and software engineering.
- Establish and maintain expertise in CallStreet's database. Provide analyses of CallStreet data on an as-needed basis.
- Test software releases to ensure they comply with function specifications/requirements.
- Initiate post-mortem analyses of failed projects, and incorporate findings into future projects with the goal of improving software development cycle.
- Where possible, prevent interruptions for software engineers. During quarterly earnings seasons and other critical timeframes, serve as first line of defense for troubleshooting application questions and issues, working to ensure high operating efficiency and, ultimately, customer satisfaction.
- Educate FactSet's sales and consulting teams on the relevant parts of CallStreet's production process with the goal of expanding general understanding and knowledge of CallStreet's offering.
- Manage CallStreet Datafeed requests. Work with sales and development to configure, price and implement our datafeed solution.
