Job Description:

Our client is a Global Money Transfer company and is currently seeking a Controller for their New York location.
 
Main objectives: Support the CFO in all financial and controlling activities of the US and International operations.
 
The specific areas of responsibility are:
·       Establish full monthly closings in accordance with US local GAAP and IFRS requirements by actively supporting the accounting department (get personally involved in daily business performing all book-keeping activities) 
·       Monthly Reporting to local / Division management and to Corporate Headquarters in New York based upon the reporting tool Hyperion and guidelines from Corporate 
·       Perform multiple Controlling activities required by local Management or by Corporate such as deviation analysis, margin calculations, production controlling, inventory valuations, return on investment calculations, etc. 
·       Execute budget preparation and forecasting activities according to Corporate guidelines and coordinate between BU*s 
·       Ensure highly qualitative book-keeping records in all US sites, ensuring that at any time all assets are protected and all liabilities are properly recorded in the books 
·       Ensure ongoing training and education of local staff (finance and technical) in all aspects of bookkeeping and Controlling (Budget, Forecasts, ad-hoc analysis etc.) 
·       Prepare the local books for year-end audits and cultivate professional relationships with internal and external auditors

Tasks and responsibilities:
·       Bachelor with and additional higher specific education in Finance and Controlling 
·       8 to 10 years proven strong technical expertise in Finance and Controlling, preferably with proven successful assumption of similar responsibilities in a multinational (production) company 
·       demonstrated background managing an environment that requires a high sense of urgency, strong result orientation, tight timeframes, budgeting and forecasting experience and a solid understanding of practices and procedures in an international environment 
·       demonstrated good understanding of the challenging reporting requirements of a publicly traded company 
·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English) 
·       Proven knowledge of accounting and reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion or similar) 
·       Knowledge of different federal and state financial regulations in the US is an advantage 
·       Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections 
·       Customer orientation skills: meet commitments on time to customers internally and externally
