The Garrison Institute, a non-profit, non-sectarian organization is currently seeking a part-time Finance Director. The mission of the Garrison Institute is to apply the transformative power of contemplation to today's pressing social and environmental concerns. The Institute explores the intersection of contemplation and engaged action in the world, helping build a more compassionate, resilient future.

The Finance Director will be responsible for the overall management of all financial, accounting and bookkeeping functions. Essential duties for the position will include: maintaining the Quickbooks accounting system, budget administration and creation, financial reporting including cash flow forecasting, handling internal controls and an annual audit, tax compliance and general financial management. The Director will also serve on one or more Board committees and will supervise a part-time bookkeeper.

Successful candidates will have management experience, a BA degree/CPA preferred, with 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in non-profit accounting practices and systems, budget development, proven ability to work with non-profit boards and a high level of accuracy in AP/AR and financial reporting. Those applicants with a team-oriented approach, an interest in non-profit work and the Garrison Institute's mission are most desired.

Located on the Hudson River, one hour north of NYC, the Garrison Institute is housed in a beautifully renovated facility on the estate of a former monastery.
