A Long Island Mortgage Bank is looking to hire a Closing Coordinator Immediately!
Job Summary
Responsible for the closing of all mortgage loans. Ensure enforcement of all policies, procedures and directives with regard to closing requirements.
Essential Job Functions
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, investor and internal company policies and procedures with regard to closing and post closing requirements.
* Input tracking information into the Mortgage Concepts processing software and appropriate database(s) closing status, closing date and lock information etc.
* Lock-in rates with investor when instructed to do so by President or Loan Officer pursuant to the outlined procedure.
* Notify loan officer of any discrepancies once lock is confirmed by the lender.
* Follow-up with the applicant to ensure their return of appropriate disclosures prior to closing.
* If a Section 32 Disclosure is required and it has not been received prior to the closing, the applicant must sign the Section 32 Receipt Statement at closing along with a letter acknowledging that they were informed of this information three days prior to closing.
* Fax the Section 32 Disclosure, Section 32 Receipt Statement, Section 32 (3) Day Acknowledgement Letter, new GFE and/or Broker Fee Agreement to the closing attorney for the applicant to sign if they were not received prior to the closing.
* Maintain closing letters, Lender rate lock-in forms and broker fee sheets book.
* Prepare and fax all closing letters and commitments to the appropriate parties. Indicate that they were sent in QA.
* Schedule closings with closing attorneys and applicant after investor has cleared loan to close.
* Answer any inquiries regarding closing issues and scheduling.
* Follow-up on any outstanding closing conditions including home owners insurance and inspection certifications (i.e. Termite, Final, Flood, Septic, Well etc.).
* Prepare charge/info sheet and fax to closing attorney and investor.
* Perform pre-closing review and complete Pre-Closing Checklist prior to closing.
* Distribute copy of commitment to the Loan Officer on all loans.
* After closing ensure that the loan file has been cleaned out, that any "At Closing" documents have been returned to us, and that all pertinent information has been entered into Genesis and Q A.
* Give closed loan to Processor for final clean out before it goes to Quality Control.
* Responsible for shipping loans to warehouse/investors and post closing follow up on Docs, customer checks, etc.
* On any extended lock verify with processor or Underwriter Manager the file can close within the time allowed.
* Confirms rate lock information with clients over the phone before locking with investor.
* Verify and follow up lock has been received and confirmed by lender.
* Review fee agreements and correct when necessary. Follow up on receipt of all prior to or at closing.
* Notify Loan Officer of any loans clear to close and not locked.
* Follow up with Underwriting Manager on any files where the lock is due to expire within 14 days and not clear to close or approved.
* Notify LO of any discrepancies once lock is confirmed by the lender.

* Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum of 2-3 years closing experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and investor mortgage policies and regulations.
The ability to interact effectively with customers and other company staff to resolve problems.
Excellent typing and computer skills.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent documentation, organization and analytical skills.
