RSPB MIDLANDS REGION: RSPB Pin Badge Box Minder – Midlands Region

RSPB MIDLANDS REGION: RSPB Pin Badge Box Minder â€" Midlands Region

Do you have a few hours to spare each month?

We are looking for volunteers in your area to place and visit pin badge boxes in sites such as shops, cafes and garden centres. You can help to raise up to a potential £1,000 a year for the RSPB in these locations! If you can help look after these boxes in the area then we would be delighted to hear from you.

You will have the opportunity to get out and about in your local area and meet people, as well as enthusing others about the RSPB’s work. The money that you raise will make a real difference â€" helping conservation on all levels, from the birds in your back garden to the Sumatran tigers! We can help you to gain skills and an insight to our work, and what’s more, you can fit it easily into your regular routine!

You will be supported in your role by a friendly volunteer area coordinator, who will assist you in restocking badges and taking on your reports each month.

What do I need?

A personable approach, knowledge of the local area, a high amount of motivation, initiative to work on one’s own, strong communication skills, basic numeracy skills and the ability to visit sites every four to six weeks.

The boxes and should be restocked and counted respectively every four to six weeks, with money paid in at a nearby Post Office.

No knowledge of birds required!

Appropriate training and friendly support will be provided and expenses will be reimbursed where necessary.

The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing - help us keep it that way.
