UncommonGoods is a fun, fast-paced and creative e-commerce and catalog company based in Brooklyn, NY. We are rapidly growing through our search for the next members of our collaborative team. We are looking for an AP Bookkeeper who will work directly with our Accounting Manager to manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks and activities. This is a permanent, full-time positions with benefits, including health and 401K.

Job Description:

Purchase Order reconciliation
Process all merchandise vendor payments and drop ship payments
Resolve all AP issues, including disputes
Resolving inquiries from vendors and other departmental personnel
Resolving discrepancies with vendors regarding damages, errors and payment issues
Processing employee expenses reports
Bank reconciliations
GL reconciliations
Assist in month-end closings
General office duties as assigned
Work with multiple departments on a variety of business issues

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a minimum of 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping/finance, specifically in accounts payable
Excellent attendance record at previous employers (verifiable)
Ability to work independently
Detail oriented and organized
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Peachtree
Strong analysis and judgment skills
Working knowledge of credit/debit transactions
Familiar with adjustments in financial statements
GAAP analysis
Negotiating skills
