The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry seeks to appoint an Information Specialist (IS) to work alongside the Lead Information Specialist within PenTAG, and to provide support to researchers and groups within the Institute for Health Services Research.
Working as part of project research teams, you will be required to develop and apply literature search strategies, manage databases of citations and retrieve publications. The effective management of information, resources, and contacts within the NHS and university libraries, will be important elements of the role.
You will hold a postgraduate qualification in Information Science/Management, Librarianship, or another related area, or, have equivalent experience. Experience of developing and managing databases as well as experience in the use of electronic bibliographic databases is essential. Excellent communication skills, organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team are important.

Salary will be on scale £24,520 to £31,020 pa depending on knowledge, skills and experience. Job share or part-time working will be considered for the right applicant.
