Finance Manager, US is a hands on position which will head up the day to day financial activities and control for the company’s US business.  This includes; financial strategy and analysis, regular financial reporting to local and group management, cash flow control and analysis, production of management and financial accounts, monitoring the performance of each department including the setting and checking of team and individual targets, managing the finance team, overseeing all tax and regulatory/compliance issues.

Whilst all the traditional responsibilities of a Finance Manager are included, this role is seen as more than just a day to day controller of the US finance function.  It is a strategic role with real emphasis on business partnering with divisional heads to drive through improvements to profit.  Key to this role will be the ability to interpret financial performance to non-finance people.  Working closely with the UK based head office and as an expert in PL management you will deliver strategic analysis, budgeting and forecasting for the local office.  

As part of the executive team this person will be a key adviser as to the future strategy of the business.

They will also oversee the operations of IT, web and office facilities as well as manage supplier contract negotiations and local Capex projects.
 
 
 
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·     Analysis of overall financial risk and opportunity.
·     Analysis of sales trends and implementation of specific reports in order for management to better manage the business and track key business metrics.
·     Business partner to divisional heads providing financial and accounting insight into new initiatives as well as existing business.
·     Finance systems and process implementation, maintenance and improvements
·     Â Facilitate costs reduction opportunities and manage these.
·     Plan, prepare and monitor the monthly and annual operating budgets of the US office.
·     Oversee corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, AR, and AP operations.
·     Manage cash flow and cash flow forecasts.
·     Compile tax returns for direct and indirect taxes
·     Oversee the operations of IT, web, and office facilities
·     Negotiate contracts with major vendors.
·     Manage local Capex projects.
·     Manage the finance team

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

  Knowledge   Up to date knowledge of accounting standards, local tax and legislation   
  Skills Abilities   Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organ isational skills Ability to prioritise a busy workload Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality Proven excellence in PL management, budgeting and business analysis   
  Experience   Minimum 3 years post qualification experience Experience within an audit practice preferred Experience of commercial finance management as well as traditional corporate accounting requirements   
  Qualifications   Degree Accountancy qualification essential, CPA qualification preferred
